Each spring, families across Clearwater mark their calendars for one of the city’s most beloved traditions—the Ginormous Easter Egg Hunt at Coachman Park. On Easter Sunday, April 20th, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the Clearwater Community Volunteers (CCV), in partnership with the Church of Scientology, the City of Clearwater, and other generous sponsors, proudly hosted the 28th anniversary of this iconic community event.
This year’s hunt drew a large crowd of eager children and excited parents, all ready for a day filled with springtime magic. The main event—the egg hunt—began precisely at 12:30 PM and, as always, was over in a flash. Thousands of colorful, candy-filled eggs were scattered throughout the grass, with 200 special golden eggs hidden among them. Each golden egg was redeemable for a cuddly stuffed animal, adding an extra thrill for lucky young hunters.
Designed for children 16 and under, the egg hunt is more than just a search for sweets—it’s a full-fledged family celebration. Little ones arrived early with baskets in hand, ready to collect eggs and make memories. And while the hunt was the highlight, it was far from the only attraction.
Throughout the park, kids enjoyed a wide range of activities, including pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting stations, and rides on the brand-new electric “Bunny Express.” There was also a gyroscope, kiddie carousel, giant slide, and bounce houses for both big and small kids. The air was filled with laughter, the scent of picnic lunches, and the joyful energy of a community coming together.
Adding to the magic, the Easter Bunny and Mrs. Bunny made their rounds, delighting children with photo opportunities and warm hugs.
For 28 years, this annual event has been a testament to the power of community and tradition. Thanks to the dedication of the Clearwater Community Volunteers and its partners, families continue to enjoy this joyful celebration year after year.
