On Saturday, February 12th, 2022, four dedicated members of the Clearwater Community Volunteers (CCV) proudly represented the organization at the annual Shoot with the Stars fundraising event, held at Tampa Sporting Clays in Land O’ Lakes. This exciting event supports the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Police Athletic League (PAL)—a program CCV is proud to back year after year.

The CCV team—Joel Anderson, Sean Wise, Billy Chalmers, and Pierre Cournoyer—joined dozens of other participants in a friendly marksmanship competition, all while raising funds to help local youth. Although it was their first year competing and no trophy came home this time, team CCV had a blast and is already planning a return in 2023 with gold in their sights.

Beyond competing, Joel and Pierre each donated an additional $100 toward raffle tickets, showing their continued support for PAL’s mission—even though they didn’t win the raffle prize, the gesture spoke volumes.

CCV’s long-standing partnership with PAL reflects a shared mission: providing guidance, education, and opportunity to children in need, regardless of their circumstances. PAL’s impact is real and lasting—evidenced by stories like one of their graduating students recently being accepted into the U.S. Space Program, as shared by Neil Brickfield, PAL’s Executive Director, who warmly welcomed CCV at the event.

Shoot with the Stars brought together hundreds of law enforcement and civilian supporters in a united effort to uplift youth in our community. The energy was high, the purpose clear, and the camaraderie inspiring.

The Clearwater Community Volunteers look forward to continuing their strong alliance with PAL and participating in future events that make a real difference in the lives of young people.
