The Clearwater Community Volunteers (CCV) proudly hosted the 9th Annual Fashions with Flair on September 17, 2011, at the historic Fort Harrison in Downtown Clearwater. This signature event once again brought together local leaders, philanthropists, and fashion lovers for an elegant afternoon dedicated to helping children and families in need.
Community Leaders Walk the Runway
One of the event’s highlights was the fashion show featuring Tampa Bay’s own community leaders and executives modeling chic styles from local designers and boutiques. Among the featured models were Margaret Word Burnside, Executive Editor of Tampa Bay Magazine, Joy Gendusa, CEO of PostcardMania, and Hillsborough County School Board member Susan Valdes.
Boutiques and designers such as Ambria’s of St. Petersburg, John William Barger III, Solei Boutique, and Island Fashions contributed beautiful pieces, while Sharmaine’s Salon & Day Spa generously donated their styling services for the event.
A Cause Close to the Heart
All proceeds from the 2011 Fashions with Flair benefited three important causes:
-
Shriners Hospitals for Children
-
The Children’s Home, Inc.
-
Clearwater’s Winter Wonderland Family Festival
These organizations reflect CCV’s unwavering mission to uplift and support children and families in the Tampa Bay area through meaningful community action and volunteerism.
Continuing a Tradition of Service
Now in its 9th year at the time, Fashions with Flair had grown into one of CCV’s most anticipated events—combining style, inspiration, and heartfelt giving. It serves not just as a fundraiser but as a celebration of the incredible community that rallies behind CCV’s efforts year after year.
